Windows: Enable Aero in Vista regardless of system rating.
If you have rather good hardware but M$ has decided that it was about time for some new hardware investment, there is another solution then running to the nearest computershop.
It is rather easy to enable the Aero user interface by changing two registry enties.
in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
change the Composition REG_DWORD to 1
change the CompositionPolicy to 2
Then run the command prompt as administrator (right click command prompt icon, and select Run as Administrator from the menu)
and restart the uxsms service (net stop uxsms & net start uxsms)
